About Dream Big Mini Farm Sanctuary 💜
Dream Big Mini Farm Sanctuary is a nonprofit farm animal rescue and community space rooted in compassion, education, and connection.
What began as a small backyard farm has grown into a forever home for hundreds of rescued farm animals—especially roosters, one of the most misunderstood and frequently abandoned animals. Here, animals are not commodities or exhibits; they are individuals with space to live freely, safely, and with dignity.
At the farm, animals coexist naturally. We do not use cages, except when necessary for quarantine, injury, or medical care. During the day, our animals free range, soaking up sunshine, fresh air, and room to roam. At night, they are securely protected behind fencing, 12,000 volts of hot wire, and a dedicated livestock guardian dog.
Over the years, Dream Big Mini Farm has grown beyond rescue alone. We’ve become a place where families slow down, children learn through hands-on experiences, and people reconnect with animals and nature in meaningful ways. From farm tours and educational visits to birthday parties, seasonal events, and community gatherings, the farm exists to be shared.
Like the animals we care for, the farm itself has grown through seasons of rebuilding and resilience. Harsh winters, storms, and setbacks have shaped how the land is designed and how the sanctuary operates—always with safety, sustainability, and animal welfare at the center of every decision.
Today, Dream Big Mini Farm Sanctuary is a legally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the only rooster rescue in California. Nearly all of the animals here arrived as a last resort, and each one is given the chance to live out their life in peace.
When the farm is open to the public (weather permitting, May through fall), all proceeds go directly toward feed, shelter, veterinary care, and ongoing improvements to the sanctuary. We also strive to make visits accessible, offering family discounts when needed.
